I just moved to Miami from a small town in Germany. Tried my first cafecito at a little window place in Little Havana and I was buzzing for hours. Is it normal to drink this stuff daily? Also, why does everyone order it in tiny cups? I asked for a large and the guy laughed at me. 😅 Any recommendations for a good spot to try pastelitos? I'm near Brickell but willing to drive. Also, is it true that you shouldn't order café con leche after noon? My coworker told me that and I thought he was joking.

Yeah, cafecito is no joke! I'm from Poland and had the same shock. Daily is fine, but start with one in the morning—don't make my mistake of having it after dinner. Also, ask for 'colada' if you want a bigger share with friends; it's the same coffee but in a bigger cup meant for sharing.

Haha, yeah, that first cafecito will knock your socks off! I remember moving here from Ohio and trying one—same buzz. Locals drink it daily, sometimes multiple times. The sugar is essential; it balances the strong espresso so it's not too bitter. Stick to a few shots a day or you'll be bouncing off walls. Stick with it, you'll get used to the kick!
