Looking for job tips as a recent immigrant in Hamilton

Hey everyone! I just moved to Hamilton from overseas a few weeks ago and I'm trying to find a job. I've been applying online but not hearing back much. Any tips on local job boards or recruitment agencies? I've heard Trade Me Jobs is popular, but are there others? Also, is it worth walking into stores or factories with a CV? Back home that was normal but not sure here. I'm open to any type of work, even part time or casual. Also, how important are references? I have some from back home but they're not local. Would love any advice from people who've been through this. Cheers! 😅
