Just moved to Edinburgh for uni and my flat is basically empty. I need a desk, chair, and maybe a lamp. I've checked Gumtree but a lot of stuff looks sketchy. Any recommendations for charity shops or markets that sell decent furniture? Also, is it worth going to IKEA or is delivery a nightmare? Cheers!

I've been in Leith for a few years now and know the struggle. PureGym on Ocean Terminal is your best bet - no contracts, pay as you go, and it's cheap. It's basic but has everything you need. The council-run Leith Victoria Baths is even cheaper if you just want a pool and basic weights. Avoid the fancy ones like Virgin Active, they'll rinse your wallet.
