Hey everyone, just got my acceptance to NYU and I need to find a place to live by September. I'm coming from overseas and honestly have no clue what the housing scene is like around the East Village or Greenwich Village. Hoping to find a room under $1500 if that's even possible? Not looking for anything fancy – just clean and safe with some chill roommates. I've seen some listings on StreetEasy but they seem super expensive. Anyone know a good area near campus that's not crazy expensive? Also, any tips for avoiding scams when looking at listings online? I heard some people pay deposits and then the apartment doesn't exist. Would love to hear your advice or if anyone needs a roommate. Thanks! 😊
