Dang

So my landlord in Dalian just hit me with a rent increase out of nowhere – 800 yuan more per month for the same tiny apartment near Zhongshan Square. I've been here two years, always paid on time, never complained. Feels like they're just testing to see what they can get away with. Has anyone successfully talked their landlord down? Or is there some tenant protection here I should know about? I'm half tempted to move but finding a decent place around here is a nightmare. Any tips or just venting welcome. Seriously considering just paying but it stings.
