Hey everyone, just moved to Canberra from overseas and I'm trying to find a job. I've been sending out applications online but haven't heard back yet. Is it normal to struggle here? I've heard networking is key in Australia, but I don't know anyone yet. Any tips on where to start? I live near the city centre, so places like Civic or Braddon are close. Are there any local job fairs or meetups? Also, is it worth applying through agencies like Hays or Randstad? I'm open to any work – cafes, retail, admin – just need to get my foot in the door. Feeling a bit frustrated but hopeful. Cheers!
