Hey everyone! I just moved to Gdansk from abroad and I'm kinda lost trying to find a flat. I've been looking on Otodom and OLX, but half the listings are in Polish and Google Translate isn't helping much with the contracts. Also, is it normal for landlords to ask for a deposit upfront without even meeting? That feels sketchy to me. I found a cool place near Wrzeszcz station, but the agent said I need a PESEL number – I don't have one yet! Any tips for finding long-term rentals as a non-Pole? I'm super excited to be here, but the housing hunt is stressing me out. Thanks in advance!

Hey! I feel your pain with Google Translate. Try using local Facebook groups like "Mieszkania Gdańsk" or "Gdańsk Expat Community" — way more English-friendly. Also, check out Gumtree.pl, it's popular for rentals and often has English descriptions. If you're okay with agencies, Piekarnia Nieruchomości is decent. Good luck!
