Finally ticked off the Tongariro Alpine Crossing after years of saying I'd do it. 19.4km, started at 6am, finished around 3pm with some long photo stops. The emerald lakes look fake in person — like someone photoshopped them into the landscape. The volcanic terrain in the middle section looks like you've landed on another planet. Legs hurt, camera roll full, 10/10.
