Anyone else find it super frustrating when people just don't get what you're saying? I've been in Melbourne for 3 years now, and my English is decent, but sometimes at work, I feel like I'm hitting a wall. Like yesterday, I was trying to explain a simple issue to my manager at the office in Docklands, and she just kept looking at me like I was speaking another language. I swear I used the right words. It's not just at work either – happened at a café on Degraves Street when I asked for my coffee 'extra hot' and they gave me lukewarm. I know it's not intentional, but it wears you down. Anyone got tips for dealing with this? Or just wanna vent? Let's grab a beer at the Napier Hotel in Fitzroy and have a whinge. I'm overthinking it, right?
