Looking for a used bicycle in Chongqing

Hey everyone! I just moved to Chongqing for work and I'm trying to find a decent used bicycle to get around. The hills here are no joke, so I might need something with gears. Anyone selling a bike or know a good shop near Shapingba? I'm on a tight budget (under 500 RMB if possible). I checked the local二手 market but got lost in the maze of stalls. Also, is it normal for bikes to be stolen often here? I saw some locks at the store but not sure what's reliable. Any tips would be awesome! Feel free to DM me if you have one for sale. Thanks!

Hey, welcome to Chongqing! Yeah, the hills are brutal here, so definitely get something with multiple gears. I'd recommend a mountain bike or a hybrid with at least 21 speeds—they handle the climbs better. Check out local二手 groups on WeChat or Xianyu (闲鱼) app; there are plenty of used bikes for sale. Also try bike shops near universities like Chongqing University—students sell bikes cheap when they graduate. Good luck!

Hey, I totally feel you! I moved to Chongqing last year and had the same struggle. The hills are brutal—I ended up getting a second-hand mountain bike with 21 gears from a guy on Xianyu (Chinese eBay). Found it for like 300 RMB. Check local bike shops or the '二手' sections on Taobao. Also, join WeChat groups for expats here; people often sell bikes when they leave. Good luck!
