Need tips on finding a job in Istanbul as a foreigner

Hey everyone, I've been in Istanbul for about a month now and I'm trying to find a job. I've got a decent level of English and some experience in customer service, but I'm not fluent in Turkish yet. I've been checking Kariyer.net and LinkedIn, but I feel like I'm missing something. Are there any specific agencies or Facebook groups that are good for expats? Also, is it normal for employers to ask for a residence permit upfront, or should I find a job first? I'm in Kadıköy if that helps. Any advice would be great, I'm starting to get a bit stressed about money 🙃

Hey, welcome to Istanbul! I landed here a few months ago in a similar spot. Check out English-speaking customer service roles at tech companies or co-working spaces like WeWork. LinkedIn and Kariyer.net are good, but also try Facebook groups like 'Expats in Istanbul' for leads. Don't stress about Turkish—many places value English fluency. Good luck!

Have you considered looking into remote customer service roles with international companies? Many hire English speakers and don't require Turkish. Also, check out expat Facebook groups for Istanbul – they often share job leads. You might find something in tourism or tech support too.
