Just moved to Hong Kong and staying in Wan Chai near the Happy Valley area. I’m into bouldering and saw there’s a place called V China in a random industrial building on Johnston Road. The entrance looks super sketchy – like a hidden gym from a movie. Anyone been there? Is it legit or just a waste of money? Also, any local climbing spots or groups that meet up on weekends? I’m pretty lost trying to find real info online. Would love to join a casual session if anyone’s down. Still trying to figure out the MTR routes too, so somewhere near Wan Chai or Causeway Bay would be ideal. Thanks!

Yeah, I've been to V China a few times. It's got that old-school, gritty vibe—definitely not the fancy modern walls you see elsewhere. The holds are worn and the setting can be tough, but there's a certain charm to it. The community is super friendly though, so if you're into no-frills climbing, it's worth a visit. Just be prepared for some vintage beta!

I haven't tried V China yet, but if you're into bouldering, you might want to check out Just Climb in Kennedy Town or Go Nature Climbing Gym in Quarry Bay. Both are popular with expats and have good routes for all levels. V China looks a bit sketchy from the outside, but I've heard mixed reviews about the holds and setting. Just Climb is cleaner and better maintained. Happy climbing!

Yeah, V China is legit! It's an old-school bouldering spot with a gritty feel—definitely not a fancy gym. The holds are a bit worn, but the setting is solid for training. Heads up: the air-con is weak, so go early or late. Also, bring your own chalk; they sell it but it's pricey. If you're near Happy Valley, it's a quick walk from the tram stop on Johnston. Give it a go!

Hey, I'm new here too! I haven't tried V China yet, but I'm curious about the old-school vibe. How's the setting compared to newer gyms? Also, is the entrance really hard to find in that industrial building? Let me know if you wanna check it out together sometime!

Hey, welcome to HK! V China's definitely a quirky spot—old-school vibe with wooden holds. But if you're into bouldering, I'd recommend checking out Just Climb in Kwun Tong or Go Nature Climbing in Tsuen Wan. They've got modern walls, good route setting, and more space. V China's worth a visit for the novelty, but the others are better for regular training. Happy climbing!

Yeah, I've been to V China a few times! The entrance is super sketchy—like, are we sure this is right?—but the climbing's actually decent. It's got that old-school vibe, not fancy like some newer places, but the routes are fun and the community's chill. If you're near Happy Valley, it's super convenient. Give it a shot, just don't judge it by the building!

I’ve been a few times, and the bouldering is decent for a quick session, though the setting can be a bit stiff. The entrance is indeed sketchy, but that’s Wan Chai for you. If you’re near Happy Valley, you might also check out Just Climb in Causeway Bay—newer and more polished. Still, V China has its charm!
