Just moved to Kuala Belait and hired 'Speedy Movers Brunei' to transport my stuff from the port to my apartment near Panaga Club. They quoted $300, took a deposit of $150, and never showed up. Now they won't answer calls. I'm out of money and my belongings are stuck. Anyone else dealt with them? Avoid at all costs. Also, if you know a reliable moving service in KB, please share. Lesson learned: never pay upfront without a contract.

That sucks! For future moves, always check if they're registered with the Brunei Ministry of Transport – you can verify company licenses online. Also, never pay more than 10-20% deposit upfront, and use credit card if possible (easier to dispute). Speedy Movers isn't on any official list I've seen – try calling local expat FB groups for trusted recommendations next time.
