Looking for a room near Gdańsk University of Technology

Hey everyone! I just moved to Gdańsk for my master's and I'm desperately trying to find a room or small apartment near PG (Politechnika). I've been checking OLX and Grupy but most places are either too far or already taken. Anyone know any good Facebook groups or maybe someone looking for a roommate? I'm clean, quiet, and I cook pretty well. Budget is around 1500-2000 zł all inclusive. Also, is it normal for landlords to ask for a deposit before even showing the place? That feels sketchy. Any tips would be awesome – this city is beautiful but finding housing is killing me 😅 Cheers!

I totally get your struggle! When I moved here for my studies, I spent weeks scrolling through OLX and Facebook groups with no luck. What finally worked for me was joining some English-language expat groups on Facebook and posting there directly. Also, try walking around the Wrzeszcz area near campus and looking for 'pokój do wynajęcia' signs in windows. Sometimes landlords don't bother posting online. Good luck!

I eventually found my room through the university's housing board—maybe check that too? Also, try visiting student neighborhoods like Wrzeszcz or Aniołki in person; some landlords don't post online. Hang in there, you'll find something!
