Hey everyone, I'm new to Xiamen and trying to find a rental near Jimei University area. I've been scouring 58同城 and Beike but honestly, it's a bit overwhelming with all the listings that seem too good to be true. Anyone have experience renting in that area? I'm looking for a 1-bedroom or studio, budget around 2000-3000 RMB. Also, is it normal to pay 3 months' deposit upfront? That seems steep. If anyone knows a reliable landlord or has leads, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Hey! Jimei area is great but listings can be tricky. Try searching on 安居客 or 链家 instead—more reliable. Also, check WeChat groups for Jimei University students; lots of sublets there. Avoid anything way below market price, likely scams. Good luck!
