Been in Freeport for a month now and I'm still struggling with the accent and speed of speech. Went to the post office near the International Bazaar yesterday to ask about PO boxes and the lady just rattled off something about 'the strip' and 'down the road'. I nodded like I understood but I have no clue what she meant. Is there a specific street called 'the strip'? Also, anyone know if there's a place where I can practice listening to Bahamian English? I feel like I'm missing half the conversation every time I talk to locals. Not complaining—people are super friendly—but it's frustrating when I can't even get simple things done. Any tips?
