Anyone know good walking trails near Hamilton?

Hey everyone! I just moved to Hamilton from overseas and I'm keen to explore some nature spots nearby. I've heard about the Waikato River trails but not sure where to start. Anyone got recommendations for easy to moderate walks with nice views? I'm not super fit yet but want to get out more. Also, is it safe to go alone? I'm a bit nervous about getting lost or meeting weirdos. Any tips would be awesome! Cheers.

Mate, Waikato River trails are sweet but everyone starts there. If you want a real challenge, try the Hakarimata Summit Track – 1,000 steps up but killer views. Or if you're keen on something less packed, Te Uku Walkway's a hidden gem. Just don't expect me to hold your hand; part of the fun is getting lost a bit. You'll figure it out.
