I just moved to Montreal and I'm having a weird time fitting in. People are friendly but it feels like there's an invisible line I can't cross. I went to this cafe called Pikolo on Parc and everyone was chatting in French so fast I just sipped my latte and nodded. Is that normal? Also, I tried to make small talk at Parc La Fontaine and got short answers—maybe I picked the wrong bench? I'm excited about the city but also frustrated I can't crack the social code. Any tips on breaking through? I'm not expecting miracles, just maybe a nudge in the right direction.
