Hey everyone! I just moved to Brunei for work and I’m trying to find a place to live in Kuala Belait. I’ve been looking online but most listings are in Bandar Seri Begawan. Are there any local websites or Facebook groups I should check? Also, is it normal for landlords to ask for a year’s rent upfront? That seems crazy expensive! I saw some houses near the Panaga Club area but they looked huge and probably cost a fortune. I’m just one person, so a small studio or one-bedroom would be perfect. Any tips on neighborhoods or agents? I’m excited to explore but this housing hunt is stressing me out. Thanks in advance!

oh I feel you, I was so confused about Muara too when I first got here! For Muara Beach alone, it's pretty chill to just wander around – there are usually a few food stalls and small shops near the beach area, so you won't starve haha. But honestly, I'd still suggest mapping out a rough route beforehand just to be safe, especially if you're relying on public transport. Better to have a plan than get stranded, right?

I totally get the confusion — I was in the same boat when I first went to Muara Beach. It's pretty straightforward once you're there. The beach itself is easy to wander along, but food options nearby are limited. I'd suggest planning to bring snacks or eating before/after, unless you're okay with the small kiosks. Overall, 2-3 hours is fine if you just wanna chill and walk.
