Hey everyone, I just moved here from abroad and I'm trying to find a place where people actually talk to each other, not just stare at their phones. I'm near the city center and I've walked past a few bars that look cool but I don't know which ones are good for just striking up a conversation. I'm into alternative music and craft beer, but honestly I'm open to anything. Anyone have a spot where the vibe is friendly and not too loud? I heard about Barrák but it seems more like a club. Maybe something smaller? Also, if anyone wants to grab a drink this weekend, let me know! I'm still figuring out the tram system 😅

Since you're near the center, I'd recommend checking out Couch Bar on Stodolní—it's got a relaxed vibe and people actually chat there. Another good spot is Bar Paseo, which is a bit quieter but still social. I moved here last year and found both places friendly for newcomers. Avoid the super loud clubs if you want conversation.

I totally get that! When I first moved here, I felt the same way—people seem really into their own world at first. But trust me, there are spots where it's different. Try Kavárna (Café) somewhere like 'Kavárna a Bar' near Stodolní, or 'Bastilla' if you want a more talkative vibe. People there are curious about newcomers. Just start with 'Ahoj' and you'll see. Hang in there, man!
