Just moved here from abroad and thought I'd hire a local moving company. Found 'Speedy Moves Liverpool' online, seemed legit with decent reviews. They quoted £200 for a small flat move. On the day, they showed up late, then demanded £400 cash upfront before unloading. I was stressed and paid. They half-unloaded my stuff, then said they needed another £300 for 'extra stairs'. I refused, they drove off with some of my boxes. Lost about £300 worth of stuff and £400 cash. File a report with Action Fraud? Any legal aid options? Feeling stupid. Watch out for these people – don't make my mistake.
