Anyone know a good park with a view near Kampong Glam?

I just moved here from Canada and I'm still figuring stuff out. I live near Arab Street and I'm dying to find a nice green space to chill after work. I walked around the area but only saw small gardens. Is there a park nearby where I can actually see the skyline or the water? I heard about Fort Canning but not sure if it's close. Also, do people here picnic? Back home we just grab a blanket and some snacks. Would love to join someone if they're going this weekend. Hit me up!
