Hey everyone, just moved to Canberra from overseas and my car's making a weird noise when I brake. I'm on a tight budget so I need someone who won't rip me off. Anyone know a good mechanic near Belconnen that does honest work? I'd prefer a small shop over a big chain. Cheers!

Hey mate, totally feel your pain—I moved here a couple years back and had the same struggle finding a decent mechanic without getting fleeced. For brakes specifically, try Steve's Auto Care in Belconnen; they're pretty straight-up and won't charge an arm and a leg. Also, if the noise is a squeal, it might just be dust, but get it checked ASAP. Hope that helps!
