Hey everyone, just wanted to warn you about a moving company called 'Speedy Movers LA'. I hired them to move my stuff from an apartment in Koreatown to a place in Santa Monica. They quoted me $400 over the phone, but after loading the truck, they demanded $1,200 cash before unloading. Said it was 'extra fees' for stairs and distance. I didn't have that much, so they drove off with my furniture. Cops say it's a civil matter. Lost my bed, couch, and everything. Now I'm sleeping on an air mattress. Anyone else dealt with this? Any advice on how to get my stuff back? Also, if you're looking for movers, stay far away from these guys. Check Yelp reviews first – I should have.
