Hey everyone, I've been in Paradise Island for about a month and I'm really struggling with the local dialect here. People speak so fast and use words I've never heard before. Like, I asked for directions to the ferry and the guy said something about "bey" and "dem" – I had no clue what he meant. I feel kinda bad having to ask people to repeat themselves all the time. Is there like a crash course in Bahamian slang or something? I don't wanna sound like a snob, I just wanna fit in better. Also, anyone know a good spot where I can practice with locals who are patient? Feels like I'm missing half the conversations around me. Thanks!
