Hey everyone! I'm a newcomer to Seattle and I'll be starting classes at UW soon. I'm trying to find a room or apartment near the university, but honestly, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the options. I've checked Craigslist and Facebook groups, but some listings seem too good to be true or are super expensive. If anyone has tips on good neighborhoods near campus (like the U-District or Wallingford), or knows someone renting out a room for under $1000/month, I'd appreciate it. Also, any advice on avoiding rental scams? I've heard horror stories about people losing deposits. I'm looking to move in by mid-September. Thanks in advance for your help!
