I'm an international student and I've been living in the Plateau for 8 months. The rent just went up again and my landlord wants $1200 for a tiny studio. Like, I know it's a nice area but that's insane. I'm thinking of moving to Verdun because I heard it's cheaper and still close to downtown. Is it safe though? I've seen some mixed stuff online about certain blocks near Wellington. Also, how's the commute? I take the metro to McGill every day. Any honest advice would be great. Don't wanna end up in a sketchy spot.
