Looking for a solid dentist in KK who speaks English

Just moved to Kota Kinabalu for work and I need a dentist – nothing urgent, just a check-up and cleaning. I've been googling but can't tell which clinics are good. Anyone have a recommendation for a dentist near the city center? Preferably someone who's gentle and actually explains things. I'm near Sadong Jaya if that helps. Also, do I need to make an appointment or can I just walk in? Back home I'd just show up, but here I'm not sure. Thanks in advance!

I also moved here recently and had the same struggle! I found Dr. Tan at Klinik Pergigian Likas to be great – he speaks perfect English and the hygienist was thorough. They do online booking too, which helped me avoid the wait. Might be worth checking out near your place.
