Hey guys, I'm looking for some quiet nature spots around Hobart that aren't the usual tourist traps. Like, I know Mount Wellington is great but it's always packed. Anyone know a good hidden picnic area in the bushland nearby? Maybe somewhere down near Fern Tree or along the Pipeline Track? I'm craving a chill afternoon with a book and some cheese, but I don't want to share the view with fifty randos. Also, any tips on finding a spot that's dog-friendly? My pup needs a good run too. Cheers!

Check out the track to Shot Tower via the Pipeline Track - there's a quiet clearing about 20 mins in with a creek and shade. Not many tourists bother with it. Also, the lookout at Knocklofty Reserve has a couple of tucked-away benches with city views, especially if you go up the back trail from the carpark.
