So, I've been in Dalian for a few months now, and it's like the city can't decide if it wants to be Russian, Japanese, or just straight-up Chinese. The architecture around Zhongshan Square is straight out of Europe, but then you hit Heishijiao and it's all seafood stalls and chaos. I'm still trying to figure out when to bow vs. just nod – got it wrong at a business dinner and nearly headbutted the guy. And don't get me started on the karaoke culture: everyone's amazing except me. But the real question: is there a hidden bar with a view that's not the usual tourist trap? I need a spot where I can sip baijiu and watch the fog roll in over the port. Also, why does every third person ask if I want to buy a Russian fur hat? It's June, people.
