Hey everyone, I just moved to Sydney from the UK a few weeks ago and I'm loving it so far, but I feel like I'm constantly messing up some unspoken rule. Like, at the beach yesterday, I sat down on the sand near Bondi and this lady gave me a weird look. Turns out I was in front of a surf club or something? And don't get me started on the whole 'keep to the left' thing on escalators—I keep forgetting. Also, what's the deal with everyone being so obsessed with coffee? I went to a café in Surry Hills and the barista looked disappointed when I ordered a latte. Is it just me, or does everyone here know each other? I feel like I'm missing some secret handshake. Any tips for a confused newbie?
