Best way to get from Nassau airport to downtown?

Hey everyone! I just landed in Nassau and I'm trying to figure out how to get to my hotel downtown. I'm a bit overwhelmed, honestly. The airport seems far from the city, and I've seen taxis but I heard they can be pricey. Is there a bus or something? I heard about jitneys but I'm not sure where they stop. Also, is it safe to walk around with luggage? I'm excited to explore but I don't want to get ripped off or lost. Any advice would be amazing!

I actually disagree, George Town might not be the best for a first solo walk. It's spread out and traffic can be a hassle, plus the main road isn't very pedestrian-friendly. For a proper first walk, try Coco Plum Beach or the trails at Moriah Harbour Cay National Park—quieter, safer, and you'll get that real Exuma feel without the chaos.
