Hey guys, I just moved here from Japan and I'm loving Toronto so far, but I had a weird moment at the LCBO on Yonge St. The cashier said something in French and I just froze. I thought everyone here spoke English? Like, I know Quebec is different, but I didn't expect it here. Do I need to learn French just to buy a six-pack? My brain is already fried trying to understand the TTC announcements and Tim Hortons slang. "Double-double" took me a week. Is this common? Am I missing something? Any tips for an overwhelmed newbie would be awesome. Merci... see, I'm trying!
