Itaewon has gotten touristy and expensive. Here's where Seoul's creative crowd is actually hanging out:

1. Seongsu - the old factory district turned design hub. Incredible coffee, small boutiques, the vibe is what Hongdae was 10 years ago.
2. Mangwon - more residential but the cafes are excellent
3. Yeonnam-dong - near Hongdae but more chill
4. Daelim-dong - up and coming, still has affordable rent

Ditch Itaewon. Go to Seongsu.
