Rented a bicycle and cycled around Sun Moon Lake and it was the most peaceful day I have had in Taiwan. The lake is beautiful at any time but in the early morning the mist sits on the water and the mountains are reflected perfectly. Stopped at a small aboriginal village for lunch, had the most incredible tea at a lakeside teahouse, and watched the sun set over the water from a pavilion. The whole circuit takes about three hours by bike. Completely worth the journey from Taipei.
