Spent a day hiking in the Tatra Mountains near Zakopane and it was the best day I have had in Poland. The trail to Morskie Oko lake is stunning - a long valley walk with the mountains rising on both sides, ending at a glacial lake surrounded by peaks. The lake is impossibly blue. Ate oscypek (smoked sheep cheese) from a vendor on the trail. The mountains feel completely different from the flat Polish landscape I had been traveling through. Zakopane is worth the journey.
