I am planning my first trip to Turkey and I cannot decide between Istanbul and Antalya. Istanbul seems like the obvious cultural choice but Antalya has the beach and the ancient ruins. I have two weeks. Should I focus on one city or try to do both? I have heard the Turkish coast is spectacular. What would people who know Turkey well recommend for a first-time visitor who is interested in both history and relaxation?
