Drove through Taroko Gorge and I had to keep stopping because the scenery was too good to drive past. The marble walls of the gorge rise hundreds of meters on both sides, the river below is turquoise, and the road cuts through tunnels and along cliff faces in a way that feels genuinely dramatic. Hiked the Shakadang Trail along the river and swam in a pool at the end. The gorge is one of the most impressive natural landscapes in Asia. Taiwan keeps exceeding my expectations.
