Spent three days in the Daintree Rainforest and I am still processing the experience. The forest is 180 million years old and it feels ancient in a way that is hard to describe. Walked through dense jungle where the canopy blocks out the sky, swam in a crystal clear creek, and watched a cassowary cross the road in front of my car. The Cape Tribulation section where the rainforest meets the reef is extraordinary. This is one of the great natural places on Earth and it is genuinely fragile. Treat it with care.
