Visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine near Krakow and the underground chapel of St. Kinga is genuinely one of the most extraordinary things I have seen in Europe. Everything - the altar, the chandeliers, the bas-relief carvings on the walls - is made entirely from salt. The miners carved this over centuries as an act of devotion. Standing in a cathedral 100 meters underground, lit by salt crystal chandeliers, is a genuinely surreal experience. The mine is touristy but completely worth it.
