Everyone told me to hope for clear weather at Milford Sound but we got rain and it was honestly more dramatic. Hundreds of temporary waterfalls appearing on the cliff faces, mist rolling through the valley, the whole place looking prehistoric and wild. The cruise was cold and wet and absolutely worth it. Saw dolphins playing in the bow wake and a fur seal sleeping on a rock completely unbothered. New Zealand keeps exceeding my expectations.
