Took my first surf lesson in Canggu last week and spent most of it falling off the board. But by the end of the second lesson I managed to stand up three times and I have never felt more accomplished. The instructors are incredibly patient and encouraging. The whole beach culture here is so relaxed - everyone is learning, everyone is cheering each other on. Already booked five more lessons. My arms are destroyed but I cannot wait to get back in the water.
