After three months of watching everyone zip around on scooters I finally rented one for a weekend trip to the northeast coast. The freedom is incredible. Stopped whenever I wanted, found a little fishing village that was not in any guidebook, ate grilled squid on the pier with fishermen who thought it was hilarious that I had come all this way. The coastal road is stunning. I understand now why everyone here has a scooter. Already looking into getting my own.
