I have been in Prague for four months and I am debating whether to seriously invest time in learning Czech. Most people here speak English and I get by fine, but I feel bad not making the effort. Is Czech actually useful day-to-day or do most expats just stick to English? How long did it take people here to reach basic conversational level? I have some experience with other Slavic languages which might help. Just wondering if the time investment is worth it for a two-year assignment.
