Born in Ontario. Butter tart pilgrim.

Best I've found:
1. The Bakery in Niagara-on-the-Lake - the butter is real, the pastry is flaky
2. Hewitt's in the Kawarthas - tiny place, legendary status
3. Mennonite bakeries outside Waterloo Region

The great debate: raisin or no raisin? No raisin, obviously. Fight me.
