Did Whistler last July. Mixed feelings.
The mountain bike park is legitimately world-class. If you mountain bike, this is a no-brainer.
The hiking is good but not exceptional - you can find better hikes closer to Vancouver.
The village is beautiful but expensive and feels a bit artificial in summer.
Better option for summer mountain getaway: go to Squamish instead. Cheaper, more authentic, and the hiking is equally good.
