1. Whitby: The Magpie Cafe. Yes it's touristy. Yes it's still worth it. Batter is perfectly crisp, fish always fresh.
2. Scarborough: Golden Grid. Less famous but equally good.
3. Robin Hood's Bay: The Bay Inn. Fish landed right there.

Real talk: any chippy using frozen fish isn't worth your time. Ask them where the fish comes from.
