Visited Pamukkale and the white travertine terraces with their turquoise pools are exactly as extraordinary as the photos suggest. You walk barefoot on the warm white calcium carbonate, the water is pleasantly warm, and the views over the valley below are beautiful. The ancient city of Hierapolis above the terraces adds a historical dimension. Went in the late afternoon when the light was golden and the crowds had thinned. One of the most visually striking places I have visited in Turkey.
