I have been in Singapore for two months and I keep hearing about day trips to Batam in Indonesia. Is it actually worth the ferry journey? What is there to do there? I have heard it is mainly for cheap massages and seafood. Is that really all there is? How long does the ferry take and how much does it cost? And are there any practical things I should know about crossing the border? Any honest assessment from people who have done the trip would help me decide.
