I have two weeks to explore Malaysian Borneo and I cannot decide between Sarawak and Sabah. I have heard Sabah is better for wildlife (orangutans, pygmy elephants) and Sarawak is better for indigenous culture and the Mulu caves. Is it possible to do both in two weeks or should I focus on one? What are the absolute highlights of each? And what is the best base - Kota Kinabalu for Sabah and Kuching for Sarawak? Any advice from people who have spent time in both would be really helpful.
